SB 998 is a bracketed bill which would allow the commissioners court of Rusk County order an election on the question of revoking the county's equalization tax.
Texas Action supports SB 998 on the principle of limited government. Allowing Rusk County to abolish this tax at the will of the electorate aids the individual liberties of the people and limits government.
