Relating to the display of the national motto in public schools and institutions of higher education.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 797 would require each public elementary and secondary school, as well as public institutions of higher education, to display in a conspicuous place in each building of the school a poster or framed copy of the United States national motto "In God we trust."
Texas Action is neutral on SB 797 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
