Bill Analysis

SB 156 would permit a court to transfer a probate proceeding to the county in which the executor or administrator of the estate resides if no immediate family member of the deceased person resides in the same county as the deceased person did.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports SB 156 because it promotes limited government and individual liberty by providing greater flexibility in the location where probate proceedings may take place under the circumstances described by the bill.
