Relating to the provision of information regarding COVID-19 prevention and treatment to individuals receiving a COVID-19 viral test.

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. 

Bill Analysis

SB 1489 would require the Department of State Health Services to post a printable brochure on the department's website containing information about preventable measures and treatments for COVID-19. Such a brochure would have to include information on:

  • methods for improving the functioning of an individual's immune system; 
  • the importance of therapeutic prevention of COVID-19;
  • the importance of seeking treatment for COVID-19 as soon as symptoms appear; and
  • advance home treatments for reducing COVID-19 symptoms and preventing hospitalization.

SB 1489 would further require health care facility employees that perform COVID-19 tests to provide a printed or electronic copy of this brochure.
