Bill Caption

Relating to the prosecution of the offense of injury to a child, elderly individual, or disabled individual.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

SB 1354 would make a group home or facility agent considered responsible for a child, elderly individual, or disabled individual’s care in the context of a criminal injury offense if they have accepted responsibility for either their protection, food, shelter, or medical care, rather than all of these elements together.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports SB 1354 because it would advance personal responsibility by making group home or facility agents more accountable for causing injury to a vulnerable individual in their care.
