Relating to the possession and administration of certain vaccines by a home and community support services agency or its employees.

HB 797 would expand the ability for home and community support services agencies to purchase, store, or transport for the purposes of administering any FDA-approved vaccine approved, authorized for emergency use, or otherwise permitted to treat or mitigate the spread of a communicable disease.
HB 797 increases the ability of the health industry to provide greater services for patients. HB 797 supports individual liberty, personal responsibility, free markets, and limited government. Therefore, Texas Action supports HB 797. Texas Action does recommend that the caveat of emergency use be removed. These professionals are qualified to administer vaccines and should have the ability to do so regardless of emergency declaration.
