Estimated Two­year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for HB764, Committee Report 1st House, Substituted : a negative impact of ($68,309,300) through the biennium ending August 31, 2023. The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. 

Bill Analysis

Among other things, HB 764 would revise high school graduation requirements by phasing out certain end of course assessments and replacing those assessments with certain nationally recognized assessments such as SAT, ACT, PSAT, and others. The bill would also require the commissioner to contract with a vendor to administer the new assessment instrument. Districts would be required to distribute the results to each district campus and provide written notice to the student and student's parent or guardian of the student’s results. The bill would also eliminate some mandatory testing for lower grades.
