HB 719 would remove the statutory reference to transfer prison facilities in Government Code, thereby enabling the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to move eligible persons to an appropriate facility without having to first send them to a transfer facility.
Texas Action is neutral on HB 719 as it does not touch directly on any of our Liberty Principles.
