Relating to informing the public about the availability of provisions in protective orders, including provisions regarding pets and other companion animals.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 674 would require the Attorney General and State Bar of Texas to develop information to provide to the public about potential provisions in a protective order, including the ability of a court to prohibit someone from removing a pet from the applicant's possession. Prosecuting attorneys would be required to make the information developed readily available at their offices for people who wish to apply for a protective order.
