Relating to the sale of fireworks before and during the Diwali holiday.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 466 would extend the days on which firework retailers would be able to offer fireworks for sale to the public to include five days before the first day of Diwali and ending at midnight on the last day of Diwali.
Texas Action supports HB 466 which would increase the number of days during the year when fireworks are available for purchase. We recommend amending HB 466 to allow fireworks sales year round in Texas.
