Relating to the qualifications and method of electing directors of the High Point Special Utility District of Kaufman and Rockwall Counties.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 4617 would allow members of the board of directors for the High Point Special Utility District of Kaufman and Rockwall Counties to be elected from single-member districts. If the board chooses to provide for the election of members from single-member districts, a candidate must be a resident of the district to qualify for the ballot or to serve as a director from that district.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 4617 as this bill does not impact our liberty principles.
