Bill Analysis

HB 4267 would make certain changes to antitrust investigations conducted by the Attorney General. It would permit service of a civil investigative demand to be made through e-mail or other electronic means if the person being served has consented. The Attorney General would be permitted to file a petition for enforcement in Travis County in addition to other locations already provided for by law.

HB 4267 would also limit disclosure of documentary material and stipulate that the Attorney General's investigative file and any information or documentary material provided to the attorney general is exempt from disclosure under public information law.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action is neutral on HB 4267.
