Bill Caption

Relating to work from remote locations by certain employees of certain entities licensed by the Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner.

Fiscal Notes

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 3510 would allow a licensed lender to allow employees to work remotely if the license holder ensures that in-person consumer interactions will be conducted at a licensed location, maintains consumer confidentiality and appropriate safeguards, and ensures that consumer data is not maintained at a remote location. This is a statutory continuation of flexibility that was allowed in response to COVID-19.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports HB 3510 because it supports the limited government principle, by allowing greater flexibility for this industry.
