Relating to defendants restricted to the operation of a vehicle
equipped with an ignition interlock device or required to submit to
alcohol monitoring and establishing a central database of those
defendants.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 2733 is designed to provide better enforcement of orders requiring certain defendants to use an vehicle ignition interlock device or who are required to submit to alcohol monitoring by establishing a central database for such defendants. The bill would establish relevant reporting processes and information sharing requirements. A person who is placed in the database would be removed from the database after the expiration of their driving restriction.
Texas Action is neutral toward HB 2733.
