HB 2272 allows the commissioners court by order to delegate managerial authority to a county chief administrator.
Texas Action opposes HB 2272. Delegation of this authority is not consistent with the principle of limited government. Signature authority must remain vested in the elected official rather than be delegated to subordinates or other officers of government.
