Relating to requirements for overpayment recovery and third party access to provider networks for certain insurance policies and benefit plans that provide dental benefits.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 1934 would prohibit an employee benefit plan or health insurance policy provider or issuer from recovering overpayment made to a dentist unless certain stipulations are met. The bill would also allow dentists to choose not participate in third party access to the contract or enter into a contract directly with the third party that will obtain access to a provider network, if a provider network contract has been entered into, sold, leased, or renewed or when material modifications are made to the contract.
Texas Action is neutral on HB 1934.
