Relating to grants awarded to reimburse counties for the cost of monitoring defendants and victims in criminal cases involving family violence.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 1906 would direct the criminal justice division of the governor's office to establish a grant program to partially or fully reimburse counties for the cost of monitoring individuals involved in family violence cases. Funds could only be able to be used for the purpose of providing monitoring services. A biennial report detailing the effectiveness of the grant program would have to be submitted to the legislature.
HB 1906 does not directly apply to any of our liberty principles, Texas Action remains neutral.
