Bill Caption

Relating to annual continuing education requirements for certain court clerks.

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 1831 would permit a county or district court clerk to carry up to 10 hours of continuing education credits completed above the annual requirement over to the following calendar year.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports HB 1831 because it would increase the freedom of court clerks to meet their continuing education requirements. Professionals ought to have maximum space to meet licensing requirements and take responsibility for their own continuing education.
