Bill Caption

Relating to eligibility for job-training programs provided under the self-sufficiency fund.

Fiscal Notes

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 1791 would expand access to certain job training programs by removing the requirement that recipients of job training programs funded by the self-sufficiency fund be on government assistance. Instead, the bill simply requires recipients to be identified by the commission as being low-income or at risk of becoming dependent on public assistance.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action is neutral on HB 1791.
