Relating to the operation of vehicles and certain equipment at railroad grade crossings when on-track equipment is approaching.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Current law governs the operation of vehicles and other equipment at railroad crossings when a train is approaching.
HB 1759 would add a statutory definition for "on-track equipment" (meaning any car, rolling stock, equipment, or other devise that, alone or coupled to another device, is operated on a railroad track) and stipulate that the same operating requirements at railroad crossings which apply when a train is approaching also apply when other on-track equipment is approaching.
No liberty principles are impacted by HB 1759 so Texas Action remains neutral.
