Relating to recovery of attorney's fees in certain civil cases.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 1578 would permit a person to recover attorney’s fees from any individual or organization (as opposed to corporation) in certain civil claims. Organization would be defined as any corporation, partnership, business trust, joint venture, association, bank, or credit union, among others.
Texas Action is neutral on HB 1578.
