Relating to the supervision of water districts by the Texas
Commission on Environmental Quality.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 911 would allow the executive director of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to request additional information from a water district upon review of the audit report for the district. The district would be required to provide the additional information no later than 60 days after the date the request was received, unless the executive director extends the deadline for good cause. This bill would also allow the executive director to review and investigate a district's financial records and to conduct an on-site audit of a district's financial information.
Texas Action remains neutral on SB 911 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
