Fiscal Notes

Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for SB 787, Committee Report 1st House, Substituted: a negative impact of ($6,000,000) through the biennium ending August 31, 2021.

Bill Analysis

This bill would reduce the license fee for occupational licenses administered by state agencies for individuals who had a child within a two-year period preceding the date of the application and, immediately before the birth or adoption, held an active license of the same type for which the person is applying.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on SB 787 because while this bill would reduce the barrier to re-entry into the workforce after taking time off with family, we would prefer for all regulatory costs related to license renewal be reduced across the board; not just for a particular group.
