Relating to the Lower Colorado River Authority, following
recommendations of the Sunset Advisory Commission.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 606 would provide that a person who is appointed to and qualifies for office as a director of the Lower Colorado River Authority may not vote, deliberate, or be counted as a director in attendance at a board meeting until the person completes a training program. People appointed to the board would be entitled to travel reimbursement. The bill would require the board to develop and implement a policy that provides a structure for public engagement in regard to water supply projects. The policy must include a clear and detailed description of how the authority will seek to actively engage stakeholders.
Texas Action is neutral on SB 606 because it neither advances nor hinders any of our liberty principles.
