Bill Analysis

SB 2387 would prohibit a political subdivision from adopting or enforcing any ordinance, order, rule, regulation, or policy regulating a private employer's terms of employment relating to any form of employment leave, including paid days off from work for holidays, sick leave, vacation, and personal necessity. Any ordinance or rule to the contrary would be void and unenforceable.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports SB 2487 because it promotes limited government, free markets, and  individual liberty. This bill would prevent unnecessary, burdensome regulations on private businesses by political subdivisions and encourage free market activity.
