Bill Analysis

SB 2357 would require the emergency management director of a county with a population of 500,000 or more to complete a course of training approved by the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM). The course must be at least three hours and be completed within 180 days after the person becomes a director. This bill would also required TDEM to develop and provide a training course related to emergency management responsibilities of state-level officers and emergency management coordinators of political subdivisions.
