Relating to the reporting of certain information on maternal mortality to the Department of State Health Services.
According to the Legislative Budget Board, no fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
SB 2150 would amend Section 34.001, Health and Safety Code, to bring state law in alignment with federal law in order to allow Texas to apply for grant funding by adding a definition of "pregnancy-associated death," change the name of the Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Task Force to the Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee, and allow health care professionals and family members to report maternal mortality data to DSHS.
This bill would also amend the Local Government Code to allow Midland County Hospital District to impose a sales and use tax.
