Bill Analysis

SB 2047 would include making grants to provide pro bono legal services to veterans, active duty members, and members of the state military forces among the approved uses of money from the fund for veterans' assistance that is appropriated to the Texas Veterans Commission. This bill would authorize the Texas Coordinating Council for Veterans Services to establish by majority vote a coordinating workgroup on pro bono legal services for veterans, including opportunities and obstacles for providing those services.
