Relating to the possession and emergency administration of an epinephrine auto-injector by law enforcement agencies and peace officers.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated
SB 1827 would authorize law enforcement agencies to acquire and possess, and peace officers to administer, an epinephrine auto-injector. The bill would permit pharmacies to dispense epinephrine auto-injectors to law enforcement agencies for this purpose.
The purpose of this bill is to allow peace officers to possess and administer an an epinephrine auto-injector in an emergency situation.
Texas Action remains neutral on SB 1827 because it does not affect our liberty principles. This does appear to be sound public policy, however.
