The Health and Human Services Commission is required to implement a provision of this Act
only if the legislature appropriates money to the commission specifically for that purpose. If the
legislature does not appropriate money specifically for that purpose, the commission may, but is
not required to, implement a provision of this Act using other appropriations that are available
for that purpose. If additional appropriations are not provided, the number of persons served in
the waiver program may be reduced.
SB 1818 would direct the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission to develop a process for evaluating the opportunities and services available to persons with disabilities enrolled in any of Texas's Medicaid waiver programs.
