Relating to the deduction from applied income of compensation paid to guardians of certain Medicaid recipients.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Current law provides up to $175 per person per month for indigent guardianship services through Medicaid Applied Income. SB 1784 would provide up to $250 per person per month for guardianship services.
Texas Action remains neutral on SB 1784 because it does not affect our liberty principles. While an increase in the amount provided to guardianship services may be warranted, we have no basis to determine whether $250 per person per month is the appropriate amount.
