Relating to the threshold contract amount at which a county is
required to engage in a competitive purchasing procedure for
certain purchases.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 1720 would allow counties to negotiate the purchase of county road equipment without having to advertise for competitive bidding if the amount of the purchase is less than $50,000 (raised from $25,000).
Texas Action remains neutral on SB 1720 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
