Relating to recovery audits of payments made by state agencies to vendors.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 1571 would allow, rather than require, the comptroller to contract with one or more consultants to conduct audits to recover overpayments made by state agencies to vendors. It would also allow, rather than require, recovery audits to be performed on the vendor payments made by certain state agencies, and would expand the number of state agencies subject to a recovery audit by decreasing the amount of expenditures from $100 million to $50 million.
Texas Action remains neutral on SB 1571 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
