Relating to military-connected students, including providing a
designation for certain school district campuses that take actions
to assist those students.
No fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
SB 1557 would establish Purple Star campuses for certain campuses that apply and qualify. To qualify, the school must have a designated staff member as military liaison, maintain on their website resources for military connected students, maintain a transition program led by students, and offer professional development for staff members in relation to military-connected students.
Texas Action is neutral on SB 1557 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
