Bill Caption

Relating to compensation to be paid to an emergency services district for a municipality’s annexation of the district’s territory.

Fiscal Notes

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

SB 1083 would alter the calculation for compensation paid by a municipality to an emergency services district if the municipality removes territory from a district that the municipality has annexed. This would give a second method of calculation and the district would be entitled to the greater of the amount yielded by the existing statutory calculation or the amount yielded by the calculation created by this bill.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on SB 1083 as it is administrative in nature and does not affect our liberty principles.
