Relating to the creation of the advisory council on postsecondary education for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 1017 would require the Higher Education Coordinating Board to create an advisory council on post-secondary education for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This council would periodically review policies to increase opportunities for people with mental disabilities and distribute outreach materials to increase awareness of opportunities. Members of the council would be appointed by several agencies, serve two year terms, and meet four times a year. The council would be required to submit a report annually to the board.
