Relating to safety requirements for a person directly operating an amusement ride.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 897 would require an amusement ride attendant to be at least 16 years old and trained in the proper use and operation of the ride. The bill would prohibit such an attendant from directly operating an amusement rise while the attendant is directly and simultaneously operating another ride, or if operation by the attendant constitutes the offense of assembling or operating an amusement ride while intoxicated.
Texas Action is neutral on HB 897 because it does not affect our liberty principles as it does not appear to be an onerous or unreasonable intervention.
