Fiscal Notes

Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for HB 744, As Introduced: a negative impact of ($74,982,320) through the biennium ending August 31, 2021. The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill.

Bill Analysis

HB 744 would expand Medicaid coverage by continuing to provide medical assistance for enrolled women for not less than 12 months after they deliver or experience an involuntary miscarriage.

Vote Recommendation Notes

HB 744 would grow the size and cost of government at the expense of taxpayers. According to the fiscal note the provisions of this bill would require 75 additional state employees. HB 744 is out of alignment with the principles of limited government and personal responsibility. For these reasons we oppose HB 744.
