Relating to paid leave for a state employee who is a search and rescue
volunteer.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 41 would permit a state employee who is a search and rescue volunteer to take leave without a deduction in pay to receive training or to participate in search and rescue activities. This is something that is already permitted for other emergency personnel.
While this legislation does not affect our liberty principles and we remain neutral, it does seem like reasonable policy for the state to adopt.
