Relating to the creation of a work group to advise the Texas
Workforce Commission regarding the Texas Rising Star Program.
No fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
HB 3876 would establish the Texas Rising Star (TRS) review work group to propose revisions to the Texas Workforce Commission's (TWC) rules on the program. The TRS program is a voluntary, quality-based child care rating system of child care providers participating in the Texas Workforce Commission’s subsidized child care program. TRS certification is available to licensed center and licensed and registered child care home providers who meet the certification criteria.
Texas Action is neutral on HB 3876 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
