Relating to required reporting of human trafficking cases by peace officers and prosecutors.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 3800 would require law enforcement entities in a county with a population of more than 50,000 people and the Department of Public Safety to report detailed information regarding certain criminal investigations which may relate to human trafficking to the attorney general. The attorney general would be required to contract with a university of the attorney general's choosing to assist with the collection and analysis of the information received. The bill stipulates the population-based dates when counties must comply with the reporting requirements.
