Relating to filing fees for the electronic filing system established by the Supreme Court of Texas.
The Legislative Budget Board does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the state.
Current law requires an electronic filing fee of $2 to be charged and collected by a local government or appellate court to cover operating costs associated with the electronic filing system. This provision is set to expire September 1, 2019.
HB 3553 would repeal the sunset provision and allow the fee to be collected in perpetuity.
