Relating to the electronic submission of required jail reports.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated
HB 3440 would require the Commission on Jail Standards to establish a system for for facilities to submit forms and data to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice electronically. The commission could still allow facilities to submit required information via paper, but could charge a reasonable processing fee to do so.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 3440 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
