Bill Analysis

HB 3345 would require insurers to cover telemedicine for certain insurance plans. The bill would also require the health insurance plans to include telemedicine claims within the current deductible and prohibit insurers from charging a separate deductible for telemedicine treatment.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on HB 3345 as it does not affect our liberty principles. Although we are normally opposed to new insurance mandates, this bill would provide a requirement that would greatly diminish costs in an industry that is overrun with burdensome regulations and sky rocketing prices. This bill would help reduce financial burdens on both the providers and the consumers.
