HB 3188 would make numerous updates to the firefighters and police retirement systems for the City of San Antonio.
Under the provisions of this bill, orders for benefit disbursements must me made with a record vote of the presiding board. The bill also details the instances in which service members and their surviving families could receive certain disabilities. Furthermore, the bill defines the calculation for retirement benefits of services members, including giving the board the authority to revise an existing annuity that belongs to a service member. HB 3188 would allow the board to increase the cap on benefits per month based on cost of living.
