HB 2623 would allow a court to order a name change for a person with a final felony conviction, or for a person subject to the sex offender registration program who provides the court with proof that appropriate local law enforcement has been notified, if the proposed name is the primary name used in the person's criminal history record information.
Texas Action supports HB 2623 which is consistent with the principles of limited government and individual liberty.
