Relating to disposal of prescription drugs by hospice service providers.
According to the Legislative Budget Board, no fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
HB 2594 would amend Chapter 142, Health and Safety Code, by adding Subchapter C which relates to the creation of policies and procedures regarding the disposal of a patient’s unused prescription drugs in certain circumstances. HB 2594 would allow for the proper disposal of drugs in the event of a patient's death or if the drugs have expired. This bill is specifically relating to controlled substances.
Since this legislation does not affect our liberty principles, Texas Action remains neutral on HB 2594.
