Relating to a study conducted by the Texas Department of
Transportation regarding the transportation needs of the Middle Rio
Grande region of this state.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 2419 would direct the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to conduct a study assessing the long-term transportation needs of the Middle Rio Grande Planning Region council of governments. This is an area with growing international traffic congestion and a high frequency of traffic accidents. TxDOT would be required to submit a report on the results of the study no later than January 1, 2021.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 2419 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
