Relating to the creation of the Institute for a Disaster Resilient Texas.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 2345 would create the Institute for a Disaster Resilient Texas under the Texas A&M University System. The Institute would be responsible for creating data analytics to support disaster planning, mitigation, and response; create and maintain web-based analytical tools to communicate disaster risks; and test ideas for flood planning and mitigation, among other things.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 2345 because it does not promote or violate any of our principles.
