Bill Caption

Relating to the scheduling of the first and last days of school for students by school districts and open-enrollment charter schools.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 233 would allow a school district that is a district of innovation to begin a school year on or the third Monday of August as an alternative to beginning on the fourth Monday in August. This bill would also subject an open-enrollment charter school to these first day of instruction provisions applicable to such a district.
